Who We Are

A vision born from one youth leader's journey home.

The Tamba Abdulai Foundation (TAF) is a community based organization (CBO) founded in 2024 by Tamba Abdulai, a youth leader and alumnus of the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program.

After a transformative year studying in the United States, Tamba returned to Sierra Leone inspired by the power of education, determined to remove the barriers that keep children — especially girls — out of school.

In July 2025, TAF, with support from Upgrade for Africa and Les Pastras, launched an initiative benefiting 80 vulnerable girls across 25 communities in Kono District — full school support plus a new toilet block and school furniture.
